We live in a seeing is believing culture
We live in an out of sight out of mind culture
    We live in a fast-food quick-fix pop a pill to cure-an-ill culture

If you transfer these attitudes onto killing your bed bugs--you will invariably miss a few--or worse--several bed bugs.

Remember PCO's live in the same world you do. They also often think seeing is believing. etc.. etc ... etc ...

So get a little OCD about bed bugs--combine methods of destroying them with much forethought. But also in ways that will not contradict each other or mess up what the PCO is doing.
A lot of people ask US when to vacuume. They SHOULD be asking the PCO that laid the poison.

You could have two bed bugs missed, by hurrying--and then in six weeks (especially in Summer)you would have a completely new infestation.
It happens all the time. I am being factual--not pessimistic.

Looking at your post's title, I think it's reversed. **We** are fast-food for bedbugs! They pull up, have an instantly-served hot meal in 12 minutes or less--no lines (well, 3 in a line), no wait, no charge, and then they are gone.

Hmm... well, I can see asking here about when to vac because I only partially trust my PCO... I know what he is laying down is working... well... due to the decrease in amount of bites. At my worse I had about 21 welts on me... they were joining and forming new "continents" at some point. People were looking at me like... you poor thing... and well... lets just say that when I talked to my PCO before coming... I had asked him... "what should I do to prepare?"... he replied... NOTHING! I knew I had t do something because I read the info here... and of course... when he came by I endd up have to do a HORRIBLE rush job of emptying out my stuff... hangers and all!!! Into bags I had purchased. Thank the good lord I was ready because I had come here.. and that has helped me... I will take the mans poisons, but for other advice... I feel better asking here... of course... he only knows what type of poinsons he laid out in my place and if I should vac or sot... but somehow... I trust you guys more... and I know that I may be taking a chance... but I am ok with that at the moment. I will still ask him though... because afterall... that is what he got paid to do.

Fast food for bed bugs... reminds me of what I tell friends when I am going to bed after chatting on the phone.. "time to get ready for a feeding!"

I never had seen OCD as a good thing... but thank goodness for it now!

    In OCD we trust?

Attention to detail is not OCD please don't mix the two, to do so belittles both.

You're absolutely right, David--though I know why Ofall used the term.

Lots of us who worked hard to fight bed bugs are inaccurately told we must be "OCD" by those near and dear. People who either lack attention to detail or who are not bitten and so don't believe the bed bugs really exist.. and won't use the required care.

When Winston says he knows of relationships that have broken up over bed bugs in such circumstances, he isn't kidding. But I am sure you've seen the same.

    Yes, in OCD I trust!

I actually am very familiar with this subject... it is something I deal with in my line of work. An OCD is a disorder having to do with having thoughts or the need to perform repetitive and ritualist actions (of which I do both), and also includes having anxiety when not performing these actions (which I do!). So, in speaking for myself (and only me because I can't diagnose anyone I do not know and shouldn't self diagnose either). To be diagnosed with OCD, the obsession and compulsions should be excessive and intrusive... which as nobugsnme understands why I use the term... I mean... I am currently living in a sea of plastic ziplocs (ten types in all)... I obsessed over everything being packed away in one. Every step I take in my apartment is VERY calculated and I follow the same pattern everytime. I even use my cell phone with a ziploc on it.

Everyone reacts different to these circumstances... just like there are those who don't give a darn and live with these bugs... not even minding that they are spreading them... there are those like me who go beyond detail... into more obsessive type behavior... Of course, I only speak for myself when I say this. Never meant to belittle those that pay attention to details. It is just me personally.... that's all.

And yes... some friends still do not understand why I am doing what i do... and why I am so serious about it... and sometimes... it is really upsetting, but al one can do is try to educate them about it and hopefully they will get it. My friends think i am crazy for spending so much money on al my supplies. Wel, peaceof mind... that is what I say... peace of mind!
