Here. I was just in the laundry room fold and bagging clothes...I proceed to then take the badded outfits to the garage to put in the XXL Ziploc with the other bagged out fits. I go tp put my husbands work outfit (bagged) into the Ziplock and teh damn thing is OPEN!!! Now what the hell do I do!!! All the outfits are bagged that are in the Ziplock...but do I go and replace the XXL case adn take everything out of the bags contained and rewash?!?!? This is the second time he did this. The first time I let pass... but now I'm worried... Or am I over doing it?

Paula..can you just wash the items again..and inspect the bag??? Reuse it...hold it up to the light..if there's anything in it, you should be able to see. Paula everyone who is tormented by bed bugs ( which is most of the people who have them )...over does it. That's part of the torment...we let irrational thoughts set in. The other day I was 'reclaiming" some stored things...and I looked inside the ziplock...in the brightest of sunlite...I kept looking inside and then I realized how irrational I was being...there was nothing inside of it...but my fear...

Are you saying the clothes are bagged and then put inside XXL ziploc bags? And it was the XXL ziploc that was open?
If this is your set up, then I don't think you have a big issue. For one thing, a garage isn't exactly the answer to a BBs prayers in terms of environment. Why would a BB even be out there? But let's assume they are. The WORST thing that could have happened is that a BB is between the outer bag and the inner bags.
You can rebag all the clothes in fresh bags now OR you can leave things as they are, but remove clothes from the bags before bringing them back inside to wear. Discard the used inner bags in the trash as you wear the clothes. Do not put more clothes into that XXL ziploc - start a new XXL ziploc. When all the clothes have been removed and worn once, the suspect XXL ziploc will be empty and you can throw it away.

Thanks bugger off and Bugalina. Yes the clothes are bagged in 1/2 gallon bags and then put inside the XXL Ziplock. WE always discard the 1/2 gallon bags when we take the clothes out anyway. I think I'll start a new XXL Ziplock, and take the smaller bags out of the bags they are in, put them in the dryer for an hour or so, then rebag in new 1/2 gallon bags and put them in the XXL bag...Does this sound feasable?

It sounds like too much work, considering the situation.
If you want to rebag everything, I could almost see that, but putting reverythign back in the dryer seems unnecessary. It was not all the 1/2 gallon bags that were open.

Paula,
Most of us ONLY do the XXL ziplocs. If you have ziplocs within ziplocs, then that's a backup system. If one bag is open, no worries. Please do not waste your time re-washing.
