So I found my first bed beg bug the other day...a dead one on my dresser. Neither my roommate or I have any bites. I also have found no sign of bugs/stains/anything etc.

I had houseguests in the room where i found the bug and they did have some of their stuff on the dresser. I know there have been BB treatments in the building recently but it is possible my guests may have brought a dead one I guess. Anyway, the PCO identified it as a bed bug and they are beginning treatment next week just in case...

I managed to get a clear picture of it and I was wondering if any of you experts could tell me anything about it. I looked at some of the life cycle diagrams. Maybe it is an adult? A female? What the hell do I know...Does it look well fed? Long dead?

    Here's the pic!!

I'm not an expert but I think it is an adult female and probably fed 3-4 days before it died. I don't think anyone can tell how long it's been dead but I could be wrong.

I can not tell from the photo for sure other than it is a BB, but I believe in finding more than one dead bed bug before springing into action. So educate yourself on what to look for and be alert. Remember not all react to bites. Check out the info at nyc.gov\bedbugs
