Exactly one month since exposure, bites but no signs

   I came back from being at a hostel with bed bugs exactly one month ago. I have what I believe are bites on my hand, arm, torso, and legs, however...there are absolutely no signs. I got so desperate that I actually ripped apart the bottom of my box spring and inspected inside and found nothing. Could it be that I truly do not have bed bugs? Wouldn't there be more signs by now?

   Yep of course it's possible. You could have urticaria, polymorphic light reaction, any number of allergies, a stress-mediated skin response, porphyria, psoriasis, dermatitis; hell, it could be lupus.

   If you haven't already, I'd strongly urge you to read this site's FAQ on ID & inspection. Haphazard bug hunts are not always effective & may simply spread a BB infestation to new harbourages.

   Probably your best course of action would be to buy a passive monitor. They're cheap, effective & available via this site.
