Has anyone ever used Evin for bed bugs? They are sending me an info packet on how they will treat. They are going to do two treatments and told me to bag everything for a month. I'm also going to have my super chaulk any cracks/crevices beforehand.

Also, can anyone confirm the laws in Manhattan. I've read some conflicting views but I heard the landlord is responsible to cover the expenses in a building of 3 or more units. He and the management company said it is the tenants responsibility because we brought them in. Apparently no one seems to realize they are all over Manhattan. My fear is I will buck up and if other people in the building are not as diligent they will come back to me and I will never break this cycle, uggh!

Yes. I have used them and found them to be very good. I have NO TIES with them other than having used them to get rid of the bbs. They are very helpful and will answer your questions carefully and thoroughly. I'm very pleased with their attentiveness and help and the recommendations that they have given me (for example to have the other apartments around me checked etc.) stuff I know now but didn't know at the beginning of the saga.

My friend used them years ago. They were awful. But a lot of info has surfaced since then and I expect they would not be in business if they continued to fail as they had my friend.

They inspected my friend's house. Evins told her she didn't have bed bugs. My friend paid for their services. Her son had bites and blood streaks on his sheets so she wasn't convinced. A few weeks later she hired Terminix and they found plenty of evidence. She and Terminix eradicated them. She got her money back from Evins.

I used them recently (within the past several moths). They inspected, found the evidence and have treated my apartment three times so far. I have also vikained my furniture and electronics and have stored them until I am ready to move back into my apartment. They have given me advice about caulking and sealing cracks, sealing the cracks on the wood floor and informed me about the availability of the vikain treatment. I don't know about past experience--and I am not yet 100 percent sure that I am free but I am happy with the help and the way they have worked with me.

IMO I wouldn't personally seal up all cracks and crevices before treatment. Injecting pesticide deep inside the cracks from which the bedbugs come threw would be a great area to attck the problem. AFter treatment or during your corse of treatment with the company I would seal up after the treatment or treatments are complete to prevent the relocation of the pests. When I first come into an apartment to inspect if the tenant has sealed up all baseboards and old cracks around the aprartment from which they came from orginally, it leaves me as the PCO no choice except having to go threw walls to inject pesticide were its needed. Also you won't be able to really tell were the bedbugs are harbored inside the wall if you seal up before treatment. Just my opinion. If the Killa is around or another bedbug professional can comment on my comment I would appreciate it... Just what I've found... especially on the first treatment...

I agree bedbugboy911. Sealing up the cracks before treatment will actually hamper treatment. Sealing them up after treatment is ok though.

Count me in on that too, I think it is important to get the chemical to the critters.

Yep I am obviously not a PCO but that's exactly what the folks at Evins told me to do. Wait until the treatment was done to seal up cracks/baseboards.

Weird Evins told me to do it before which does not make sense. I'm telling my LL to wait till after they finish - he already said he won't go in my apt till they come anyway b/c he is afraid of bringing them home and we live in the same building.
