ever catch one with tape?

i got double sided tape everywhere and never found a bug on it. i tried sleeping inside a square of tape and still got bit. Wondering if they can just walk across the tape or if my tape isnt sticky enough.

Im trying double sided duct tape (got it at walmart)....

Thats what i started with and thought maybe it wasnt sticky enough moved to the double sided carpet tape then i got the "premium" carpet tape at home depot its more like glue with string in. I would'nt recommend it cause its crazy to clean up. its hard to believe none have stepped on the tape.
