Effective PCOs (thermal?) in NJ area?
(3 posts)-
Our landlord was cooperative with us when we brought the bed bug situation to his attention.. but he insisted that we use a PCO that their management company does everything through.
The problem is I really don't think this guy knows what he's doing. It's a small operation, so they keep shifting dates on us (they just called us to cancel on tomorrow's spraying, and couldn't reschedule until another week later), and they haven't even put down any residuals. The only thing the guy does is come and spray Bedlam (which does have a residual component, I know.. but not as effective as DE, etc.)
And especially concerning is the fact that they didn't want to keep 2 week intervals between sprayings - they came twice so far, and with 3 week gaps because they had to keep rescheduling. They didn't see any need to investigate the adjacent units either.. I just get a feeling this PCO is not concerned at all about the problem.
Not sure if my landlord is just doing this to cover liability. But I am definitely going to confront him with it. Anyone know prices/contacts for alternate PCOs and treatments? I want to get thermal optimally.. I do NOT want to go through the process of bagging and taking apart everything again.
Feeling very angry and frustrated right now.. the situation has not improved AT ALL since they started treatment.
Any idea what the cost is, as well? The apartment is about 300-400 square feet. I am so fed up. Considering paying for this myself if I really have to, I have a hunch the management company is just using minimal investment to avoid lawsuits/fines from the city.

Bump..
So bloody annoyed ATM.. this dude's one-man amateur operation is always fully scheduled, and he keeps canceling on us.
Three weeks without a spraying now.

Hey Red, do your homework..this place is great for what to expect from a PCO, proper methods and warranties. Your landlord may be "paying" but he/she doesn't have to live in your apt.
Best of luck to you, hang in there.
