Eaten ALIVE!!! 80 welts on my body!
(4 posts)-
Came back from an 8 day work trip with 80 welts on my body. After doing some diligent research, determined that bed bugs in my hotel room were the culprit. I had seen signs such as blood specks on the sheets, found what I thought was a tick on the bathroom wall. Interestingly enough though the welts didn't appear until the morning after I returned. I confirmed it with my boss who also stayed in my hotel room after I left. He was also bitten and found one on the bed. So my question is.....Is it possible that all of the bites occurred during my stay and the allergic reaction happened a few days later? Or is it more likely that I carried a few with me from the hotel then got bit while here at my home? My husband has no bites. Unfortunately, I had never even heard of bedbugs until 4 days after my return home. Never have been bitten before. Since the confirmation I have fumigated twice(myself) and have not seen any, and have not been bitten since I fumigated...but am worried as it has only been 10 days since I arrived from my trip. Is it likely that new ones will hatch or are dormant? Also another concern is my car since I drove. Does this mean I have to fumigate my car as well? What to do?

its likely that the bulk of your bites came from the motel room it takes a while for the bites to welt up and a while longer for them to itch, it is really hard to tell when you were bit. that said you were exposed to them they may have hitched a ride with you. i would get all dirty laundry and the clothes you took on the trip in the washer and dryer on hot vacume and keep an eye out if you get more bites or find one call a pco right away

ooh noooooo bug bombs are A NO NO they do not work it just drives them deeper in to the cracks and crevices!! I did that and caught Hell for it!! I didn't know any better thought It was a baby roach I didn't look close enough at it!!I would also call the hotel and let them know!! Which you hopefully have already!!and place the hotel on the BB registry!! don't forget about the suit case some could be on there!! also you may not find any they can stay dormant for UP to a year in a controlled environment so I am told by a good reliable source !!!! and may not feed for 5 days!!You really need to call a PCO to come out or even get better advice for your area every area is different in the treatment for BB!! !! You may want to get encasement's for your bed (some PCO's providethem)so you can protect the bed!! do you research on them they are not all BB proof!! and before you do any more pesticides, dusts, or chemicals keep this in mind!! Safety always first!! if you have any more questions you can post here there are A LOT of qualified people in the forums!!

ooh yea stevebeast is right just don't forget to dry on high heat internal temp to reach 120 degrees for at least an hour I personally did it for 2-3 hours (I am paranoid) all my laundry even clean clothes!!I put about 80 percent of close strait out of the dryer into vacuumed sealed bags I hate laundry!! but you can use any bags as long as they are air tight!! BB can fit into a crack small enough for a business card to fit in to!! Ive seen it with my own eyes!!
