I just picked up a Chapin Plant and Rose Duster, model 5000. It has a 16 oz. container for powdered substances, and includes a useful feature that allows the hand-sprayer part to be removed from it's own container so that it can be screwed directly on top of a Diatect RESULTS Insect Killer container (and probably various other manufacturers' products as well). It is capable of either very light, or thicker, dustings - and also works in cracks and openings in floors, crevices, walls, etc. I've only tested it to dust a few areas so far, and found that it's very easy to use. You can find it listed on this website's "Shop for Useful Stuff" page. Recommended.

Thanks for your feedback on the Chapin duster, BBBH. I linked to this from the Useful Stuff page.

I tried the Chapin but found the Crusader hand bellows, a source linked below, easier to control. Doesn't hold as much but for light dusting I turn it upside down and shake up a internal dust storm then puff it out for a very light dust layer.

Leave it right side up to blast large crevices.

Since my landlord hired a spray and pray, I have been back to square one. As a result, I've created my own duster. It does not hold much but it works quite well.
I take one unused glue/paint craft bottle bought for 75 cents at any craft or art supply store. I poked a small hole in the bottom in the middle of the bottom. I stuck the tiny red straw that comes with compressed air can in the hole and sealed around it. I filled the bottle one third full of diatect and connected the compressed air to the straw. Then I spray the compressed air in short small bursts. The result is a very very fine mist. It may end uip being more expensive than a duster for most people if they use can after can of compressed air. But I have a bunch of these I got for free and haven't used much.
