Hi xzero! Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you, but just wanted to kind of add to the question. I was planning to buy this kind: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/motherearth-diatomaceous-earth-p-410.html

Mostly just because I can also buy the duster and the respirator mask/cartridges all from the same place. However, with this stuff they give you the option of buying 8 oz. or 10 pounds, which both seem way expensive compared to what you found. Hmmmm...

I also have no idea how much I'll need. We're having the thermal treatment and are using the DE to supplement and we live in a 1bd/1br place so it doesn't seem like we'd need THAT much, but I don't actually know- didn't see it on the FAQ.

Is there anyone who can help us figure this out? Thanks!

PLEASE PLEASE read the DE Hazards Board! My LL has been treating my apt with foggers, chemicals and gross amounts of DE for the past 5 months and I have been sick as all get out! Now I know why and have called my doctor to take lung x-rays ASAP. That stuff is very very caustic if used inappropriately like my LL has done.

Unfortunately, not even a building inspector or HUD has helped either. Because I have not produced a live bug to them they have passed my apt for inspection, basically telling the LL he is free to not renew my lease, blame me for the infestation and do nothing more to erradicate these bugs.

PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH and KEEP YOUR LUNGS SAFE!

Get a bellows duster and used in the light application 8 oz should do anything needed in a 1 bedroom. 10 lbs is a lifetime supply for an individual.

I got 1 lb containers and used maybe 2/3ds in a 2 br.

Thanks Jim, that's exactly what I was looking for. Bugoff- I have read the FAQs very carefully already, which is why I mentioned purchasing a respirator and duster for the application. Good luck with your health.

Thank you tryingtobecalm. I'm so sorry if I come off a bit harsh, I'm also "trying to be calm" but sometimes I'm so enraged and I fear for others going thru what I've been too.

    Good luck to you also.

Don't get me started. I already covered this in the FAQ.

Bee stings are organic, cobra venom is organic, shark bites are organic, toadstools are organic. You get the idea.

Get the protective gear I mentioned. The government officials in charge of public health say to use safety gear and the PT Barnums trying to make a buck say it is not needed.

    Your lungs, your choice.
