Dude. I Miss My Wifi
(3 posts)-
Just wanted to drop folks a line and let you know that until Wed. of next week, I'm away from home. I'm back east visiting family, which is awesome, except that my mother is a technophobe without wifi, so I'm dependent on pirating unlocked wifi networks in the neighborhood.
So if you don't hear much from me, that's why.
And, since I've seen him around recently, I just wanted to send spideyjg a virtual high five for rolling over into the old timer category.

Hi buggyinsocal!
Thanks for everything you do here. You and all the other experienced bedbuggers (like spideyjg!) do so much to help people. It's amazing and much appreciated.
Have a good vacation!
You probably know this, but just in case: if you get one of those top-up cards at Starbucks, and pay with it, you can use their wifi free for two hours a day -- if your mom's hood has one, of course. Maybe they're lucky and have only cool, local coffee places -- but those tend to have wifi anyway.

Actually, that has recently changed, re: Starbucks, for both US and Canada.
Believe me, i'm the expert on this one, lol.
You now need to get a free Starbucks account. Go to Starbucks.com and sign up.
Like before, you get 2 hours of free access....but if you're sneeky, like I am, you will sign-up multiple accounts. This way when your 2 hours runs dry, you switch to another account. Takes all of about 30 seconds. I can use wifi at Starbucks for up to 8 hours a day if I wish to do so. Do the math, heh!
