Dryer advice - size, type, brand?
(3 posts)-
Hello all, I'm moving to a single-family house with a w/d hookup, and plan to buy a GOOD dryer for use in the bed bug war (as well as for laundry, of course).
What I don't want to do is buy the cheapest dryer when I could have had a much more effective bed bug killing tool for not too much more...so I'm seeking recommendations and advice.
As I understand it, most home dryers have sufficient temperatures to kill bugs -- 180 degrees or so. Should I buy a larger-than-average dryer, with the theory that the more hot air surrounds my clothes, bedding, etc. the more effective the heat penetration will be? Or does it matter much?
I have a $100 Sears gift card so it might be best for me to purchase from them, though I welcome feedback about any brands. Would love to hear your good and bad experiences with new or newer home dryers. Thanks so much!

I have a Kenmore Elite that was used when I got it ten years ago. Reaches 180 just fine. I did blow a part on it last week, but I was able to pick that up right from sears. Good Luck.

Bigger also lets you do fewer loads if you are infested. That said, balance the day-to-day practicality vs the once in a while marathons you might do when you catch another bout of BBs. But look for the accessory rack, so you can do shoes, etc.
