    Hi.

I got bedbugs recently and as a student I dont have much furniture. I am going back to my apartment and I was wondering if I needed to get some kind of plastic chair? The only other sitting place I have is my cushy computer chair. I am almost certain that there are no bed bugs in that chair but will my continued use allow them to breed and multiply? I thought the point of residual spray was for the bedbugs to walk across it? Should I abandon the chair while I am tackling this situation?

(and the PCO sprayed some short of residual spray on the chair's legs)

That would be a sensible precaution, since it doesn't sound like the chair was treated, it sounds like just the legs were.

Avoiding the chair will cause any bugs present in/on it to climb or drop down, and hopefully encounter poison on their way to you. You'll need to avoid it for a couple of weeks (hatching time for the eggs).

Having said that, it should probably be relatively low on your list of concerns.
