Did I bring bed bugs to work?(3 posts)
In another post, I worried about what to do if I get my apt free from bed bugs and the work place still has bed bugs. The reason I ask is because at work one day I noticed a very slight crawling movement on my forehead. I took out my mirror and saw a very small bug crawling at the top of my forehead. I think it's a bed bug and they have been in my hair. I have felt some itchy spots. I'm pretty sure it's a bed bug.
And it completely terrified me. I thought I had on clean clothes but I guess not. Maybe my clothes were clean or I missed a step somewhere....shoes had it. Or maybe they were in my hair all along after waking up. I hadn't taken a fresh shower.
This really brings my state of terror to a whole new level. I'm pretty sure if they were in my hair, the likelihood that I accidentally left one at work. What do you think?`
If it happens again, probably best to put the bug in a ziploc bag, take a picture and post a picture here!
Not really sure about bedbugs in hair, hopefully someone else can help.
Do you have small children, or are you around kids a lot? Lice is a BIG problem in schools these days and not really making the news as much since bedbugs is such a bigger problem. You may not have found a bedbug, but actually found lice.
From what I understand bedbugs have difficulty grasping onto long hairs, so it's unlikely that they're feeding in your hair. Lice are small and have some visual similarities to bedbugs. If you see one again, save it and definitely post it.
For what it's worth, I had lice when I was in grammar school and I remember the itching in my scalp being unbearable. They're so easy to catch - if you keep your coat/hat in a shared coatroom, that's one of the easiest ways to get it.
Either way, I hope your situation gets better and that you're itch-free soon.
