The only type of DE in stock at Lowes, Home Depot, or Walmart was SaferBrand. Can I use this kind?

From what I've read here you have to try to apply the very lightest dusting of de that you can and only in areas that will be relatively undisturbed. A 600 gram container (smaller then a quart of milk) should be enough to do your place 2 or 3 times with leftover. 10 lbs is way too much for interior use. I've heard that the pyrethroid laced ones like Delta Dust or we have something here called Pyro Dust are more effective as the DE pierces their shell and allows the pesticide to finish them off. I think people order the large size for outdoor use. Use with caution - wear a mask to apply or vacuum up. An single light application should be good for 4-5 weeks. If you are working with a PCO you should consult with them to make sure you're not interfering with what they are doing.

Experts suggest wearing a respirator mask-- not just a dust mask. See our FAQ on de: http://Bedbugger.com/faqde
