    Hi,

Based on a lot of posts here, I think DE is a good thing to use in addition to the Phantom spray my PCO did. I purchased a bag from local Lowe's. The brand is "Safer" crawing insect killer. It did not say food grade on the package but I assume it is since it says "oganic" and the warning only says "breathing and touching the eye" is bad and nothing else. Anyone knows this thing please confirm. Thanks in advance.

Also, I have a question about applying this thing. It says apply a THIN layer (so as recommended in this forum). Could anybody please give me an example of how thin it should be? I used a paint brush to apply it on the carpet around my bed legs, couch legs, electic outlets etc. I brush it so that I cannot visually see the dust. Is it too thin?

This dust does not stick to the wall. So, how can I apply it to the vertical surfaces like wall?

Thanks a lot. This site is really helpful.

Hi Bostoner. I think the type you bought is correct. My understanding is to avoid "pool grade", which was the only type I could find <<frown>>

I'm not an application expert at all, but when my PCO applied the stuff I couldn't see it. I believe there is a recommendation somewhere around here to use a duster. Maybe check the bedbugger store to see if there is one there (even if you don't order it here, you can see what it should look like)

Best of luck to you :)

Safer does not appear to post detailed product info., but the product pic. and the "It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling" notice imply that it's "food grade" with "enhancements", like pyrethrin, permethrin and/or piperonyl butoxide. These can be "organic" plant extracts. Unlike pure "food grade", this should never be eaten.

AFAIK, the DE should be virtually invisible when applied.

I meant this looks like DE "enhanced" with natural pesticides, similar to "Diatect Results". Not food grade.

I am definitely seeing result with DE. I bought MotherEarth D brand. Someone recommended using a small cosmetic brush. I used my blush brush and dusted very lightly- barely visibly-all around. I also put baby oil on my face, hands and feet before going to bed. I'm down to 1 bite every other day. All the D-Force and Bedlam didn't do anything for me. Now my dilemma is whether to call a PCO or wait little longer.

call your pco as quickly as you can! waiting a little longer only gives time for more eggs to hatch. I'm interested in trying to treat myself because of the prior two times my place has been treated i have not seen any results. my delima is that my pco told me not to use product over his. what do you think i should do?
