So, I've put DE in all the necessary spots and basically surrounding my bed, yet i still find a bug on my pillow. Should I see signs of DE on the bug if it has crossed through it? The bug looked untouched. If the bug manage to clean the DE off from crawling around, is the DE still effective?

DE efficacy is, as you know as a self-experimenter, debated: some people say it takes 10 days. It might be from somewhere on the bed/mattress you missed, it might have climbed on the ceiling and dropped down (not in a light infestation though I wouldn't think, and I don't know if that's an urban myth anyway) and it might have been in your pillowcase all along as a nymph and now grown up into a big boy. I think DE is too small to just rub off by walking around: presumably that's how it digs into their bellies and eventually dries them out. A mechanical killer, as people say. Did you catch live ones from your hunting the other night? If so then get some tupperware and lightly dust it (really lightly) and see what happens, then tell the forum. I'm sure some of the PCOs here have done the same but it's up to them whether they want to say it on the forums to people with names like mine (disclaimer on my profile page btw).

I think DE is too small to just rub off by walking around: presumably that's how it digs into their bellies and eventually dries them out.good point. i am more than happy to take experimentation requests for the good of the forum:) right now, i have two: an adult and child. since i've played with adults and DE, i think i'll try the child in some light DE and then subject the adult to my own packtite experiment similar to the youtube one. (just came in the mail today.)
after finding the infestation the other night, its tough to say whether or not i have new bites. (it has become increasingly difficult to differentiate between new bites, old, paranoia, random itching.)
I have Eric and his pups coming out next week for the hot dog treatment. i decided the the previous pco was a tad bit mediocre and i'm tired of guessing where the hell these things are, so heat and dog it is. until then, i will be laying around as bait and trying to capture as many as i can. hopefully, i'll find more and hopefully, i wont

yeah, the bed frame (platform) is where i found the infestation that i spoke of. i had taken the whole thing apart and found them in corners. it was pretty obvious in the beginning that theyd be there somewhere, but of course now i have to wonder how many are left and where else they could be hiding. i'd love to think that i hit the main target, but i just cant bank on that.

DE will dry you out like a mofo and then your very dry skin can itch.
