DE help - how to clean up after misuse on furniture

   Help! I bought DE originally to use for fleas, but read on the label that it also was useful for bedbugs. I originally had applied it to the yard where the pets frequent. But got the 'brilliant' idea of putting under my sofa cushions where I had seen some bugs ( later ID'd here as not bed bugs
   after posting). The dogs often are on the sofa, so I figured 'good for fleas, good for bedbugs'. The bag said you could put in on pet bedding, so I assumed to be safe. After reading on the forum, I realized that putting it on your furniture - BAD idea and also I am sure that I way over applied.
   How to I safely remove this? Do I need to trash my furniture, is it no longer safe for my kids to sit on? Panicking now. I used a HEPA filter vacuum to remove the dust, then used a carpet cleaner/steam cleaner afterwards. What else should I do?

   You have already cleaned the furnature thoughly which would be my first suggestion so now I would contact your locall poison control center for the next step.
