Just had a PCO in to treat my appartment (however they did not yet treat the downstairs appartment which is where they came from - well they were treated 4 months ago, but still have them). The new PCO company treated mine with Cy-kick and some other growth hormone stuff. Any thoughts on effectiveness and toxicity of this stuff?

The PCO said it is effective for 45 days - is that true?

Cykick is a microcap..supposed to be good...The most popular growth regulator is Gentrol. That's what was most likely mixed.
I still keep in touch with my PCO and had a recent dicussion with him on a convention he just went to.
Supposedly alot of the bugs being seen are European descent and have a strong resistance to the chemical we have today. It's taking much longer for the chemical to penetrate the insect. Residuals sometimes taking longer than a week to kill it. Powders such as DE have shown to take sometimes up to 3 weeks before the insect dies. According to the meeting they are told basically to use a wide variety of what they have avail to them.
Just speculation, but my assumption is..."if this andd that" don't do it, do that and this.."
I don't want to give false notes, just wanted to verify that it takes alot to kill the damn things and takes time, possibly longer than we thought or once was...

DE is a mechanical killer. It's sharp and pierces bugs skin, then they dry out.

Correct. Origianlly they said 1 wk to 10 days to kill. They are finding out it is now taking longer.

That's too funny- I was treated with that very chemical myself today. I'm just glad it didn't smell. While I've never heard it mentioned, I was told that it's a residual.
