Hi, I posted on the 'How do I know if I have BBs' link but I didnt see anything so please excuse if you see me twice!

My friend stayed at an apt that had bbs and then a few days later visited me for an hour on my couch in my room. A few days later she found two bites on her wrist and I had gotten bitten a few times more than I normally do by mosquitos. I have a wooden loft bed and havent been bitten since then (a week ago), and our private exterminator left sticky pads. I am finding teeny weeny oblong bugs that are maybe flesh colored (?)on the pads under my couch. cant tell if theyre transparent or not. My exterminator told me to squish them and see if blood came out but all I did was tear up the bodies! He insists that eggs and baby bbs cant be seen, and that if they were growing that they would all have blood in them and wouldnt be transparent and thinks I probably dont have them. Some of my bites have two holes right next to each other...is that breakfast and lunch or just their two pincers?

im scared my ext will come check out the sticky pads and say i dont have them when i do. Havent found any actually mature bbs and am scared to death the problem will wait until it gets unbearable! Reading everyone elses stories I cant tell if I have them, what do you think?

Thanks so much for this site, what else would people do? Thanks so much for any advice!

You need a positive ID from a competent PCO or entomologist. Go check the FAQ for BB identification.

They sure sound like BB nymphs from your description. They are about 1mm so you can see them.

Go see the first link here for pictures.

    http://www.nysipm.cornell.edu/publications/bb_guidelines/

Use some tape and get some stuck then apply to an index card.

If you want to be sarcastic gather up some in a ziploc bag to show the PCO. Watch out because if they are hungry they will bite you. They will turn red if they do then you have proof they are your biters.

After a week dare him to put his hand in the bag. Betcha he won't. ;)

    Thanks, Jim.
Im going to take the sticky pad to a PCO office tomorrow morning to try to get an ID. Does anyone know of a reliable PCO in Brooklyn or NYC? Unfortunately I cant seem to gather any up in a bag because there arent many, and the ones on the stickies are sure stuck. The link for the Cornell pic doesn't look like what I see, maybe i will post a photo link tonight. The closest thing I can find that it looks like is this: (but there are no dark spots - so theres no blood in them if they are bbs)

    http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1235/587785470_9f04cad52f_m.jpg.

Unfortunately Im finding that a lot of places just say its hard to tell, and I probably dont have them, and other places freak me out. My landlord is getting freaked out too but says she wants to make sure I have them first. Im getting to feel like I might have to wait for it to get worse before I can try to make it better =(.

I think i have them honestly. So Im thinking from what im reading that the best option is to have a multiple treatment plan and open the bags mid-treatment. however i have a rabbit an cant really steam her...

    Thanks for any help..
