Two days ago, my new baby (who is sleeping in a crib in the same room as my husband and I) had a fresh bug bite on her forehead when she woke at 5 a.m. for me to feed her. The next day, I woke up in the morning with a very itchy bite near my knee. Is it possible that bed bugs could just bite once, do they always do so in a 2-3 linear pattern? I am wondering if we really have bed bugs or this is a mosquito.

Yes , and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 or more, I had 1 many times and then there was a time when they where all in threes then back to one ,Identifying bites is part or the frustration and that leads to denial and prolonging the problem, I wrote down all bites on a calender and saw the pattern after 3 weeks , I could predict the night I would get bit , Thats when I knew it was bed bugs nothing else will keep doing the BB pattern 3-4 days 2-3 bites in the same places then a switch will come another pattern will emerge , If you treat then even another pattern will show up some times a nasty influx then a lull
