My daughter has had a dry cough for the last few weeks, I took her to docs but they weren't really sure what it was from (could be allergies) , gave her some steroids and ventolin inhaler and sent us on our merry way..... neither worked. At first the cough was only at night but it has gotten progressively worse. She has been coughing pretty much all day.
Could this be caused by bed bugs?
She has had red spots, mostly on her face, every morning and I had thought they were mosqitoes or something...I just googled and they look like bed bug bites to me, I also have some on my ankle. I also saw a bug on my bed the other day but it didn't occur to me what it could be!!!

    Search your daughter's bed first.
Read on how to recognize signs of bed bugs, and where to look for them.

Like between mattress & box spring, along seams of mattress, in folds of sheets & mattress cover. Inspect the bed frame where there's any crevices or connection points.
Then inspect any furniture close to the bed - all crevices & creases...
For the bugs themselves, castings, fecal smears, etc.

Look at the photos of bed bugs... Was the bug you saw something that looked like a bed bug?
Next time you find a bug - save it - compare it to bed bug pictures - or other bug pictures.

I'm wondering if, other than the bites, and having seen a bug on your bed, is there any reason you think you may have bed bugs? Does someone you know have an infestation, for example? Do you live in an area with a known big bed bug problem? Have you or your family members recently been somewhere known to have a bed bug problem?

Bed bugs have nothing to do with cleanliness or hygiene... But they also don't poof into existence out of a vacuum... There's risk factors & context of how people pick up infestations.
