Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Free for all
Contest: win $300 of bed bug supplies (ends 7/29 at noon EST)
(89 posts)-
This week, we're running another really exciting contest on Bedbugger!
The lucky winner will get a US Bed Bugs gift certificate worth $300. You can put this toward whatever bed bug treatment or prevention supplies you desire (Packtite! Monitors! Steamers! etc.) via the wonderful US Bed Bugs.*Bedbugger Forums participant KillerQueen (John Furman of Boot-a-Pest in New York) is generously donating the prize.
I (site admin, nobugs) will select the winner using the random number generator at random.org, to avoid bias.
How to enter: leave a single comment in this thread. The first line in the post should be a number. The first person will write a "1", the second person to post will write a "2" and so on, chronologically.Comments not starting with a number on the first line will not count as entries. Comments starting with random numbers (not following in chronological order) will be deleted and will not count as entries. Please do not enter the contest more than once, or use multiple accounts to enter.
After the number, you may hit the "return" key and write any other message you like (but please begin on a new line in the post, so others can easily see your number). You may also post other comments without numbers in addition to your one, single contest entry.
(Please keep discussion limited to the contest and any questions you may have. If you want to discuss KillerQueen or US Bed Bugs or bed bug products generally, or other topics, please do so in another forum thread.)
You need to register for the site and login in order to leave a comment on this thread. (The blog end of Bedbugger and the Forums share user information so if you have commented on the blog in the past, you do not need to start a separate Forums account.)
The contest is open to residents of USA or Canada. Void where prohibited.
The winner will be chosen randomly from entries received before noon EST on Friday 7/29/2011. I (nobugs) will email the winner at the email in his/her site profile. You need to wait for and receive this email in order to claim your prize.
If you win, you will have 48 hours to respond to my email, giving me permission to forward your email address to John Furman; I will do that and then you can then directly give him your name and address for shipping, and he will be responsible for providing and getting your prize to you. If you don’t respond within 48 hours, or your email address bounces back, I will use the same methods to choose an alternate winner. Warning: this recently happened not once but twice in the same contest, and we had to award a prize to a third-place winner.**
We will announce the winner’s username, but John promises not to share your real name or address with anyone else except as needed for awarding the prize. (Obviously, please do not use your real name as your username).
I ask that you please do not enter the contest if you work in the pest management, pest detection, or pest product business. Please do not use multiple accounts to enter the contest. (It’s the honor system! Please be honorable!)
Disclaimer: we’re doing this for fun and we reserve the right to change anything if we have to – but be assured we really do want to give away this prize!
Many thanks to John Furman of Boot-a-Pest (a.k.a. KillerQueen on the forums) for very generously donating this prize!
Good luck to everyone!

This would be such a blessing! Thanks for doing this.
-
...Not entering this contest, but I wanted to wish everyone luck and say that these contests are great! The entire shipping process goes smoothly, and the contest organizers really do a great job.
Good luck, all!
-
not entering, but I have heard your chances of winning increase if you send milano's to Killer Queen during the week of the contest.
Good luck everyone!

New to the forums, I guess this is a good first post. Hi all. -
3.
Newbie here! -
4
Prize is exactly the cost of a packtite? Awfully convenient! -
5
Can't resist the lure of a PackTite after reading so many posts about them! Thank you very much for maintaining this site, I think you've preserved my sanity. At least I hope so...we'll see.
-
Can I use this in Canada?
-
6
packtite is calling for me
-
I am void again. I am sure this is a conspiracy to keep the good stuff only available in the US and Canda, LOL.
Best of luck to everyone who enters.
David

KillerQueen has no influence on which name is drawn and I am not open to bribes.

Can I use this in Canada?Just a reminder: please read the directions and rules in my post above carefully. This question is covered: the contest is open to US and Canada unless the laws in your area disagree (in other words, "Void where prohibited").
I mention reading the rules carefully also because (as I point out above) we once had a contest where the first two winners drawn did not get their notification (because instructions were not followed) and the prize went to a third-place winner. So I can't stress closely enough the need to read everything above, even if it seems tedious.
You have to pay for shipping in Canada, though you could simply get less than $300 of merchandise in that case.
Packtites cannot be shipped to Canada as of this writing, but you could either order something else or ship a Packtite to a friend or relative in the US.

Tell your friends, enter the contest! Shout outs to KQ, I know what you look like so if your coming to Chicago again I won't be fooled twice!
-
Bedbugfumigationspecialists,
Sorry, but the directions state clearly above that those in the bed bug business are NOT eligible, even if they want to donate their prize. I deleted your entry.
Just a reminder: everyone, please read the directions above carefully. Again, people have forfeited prizes in the past for not following the directions abive regarding the email address in your profile, so I cannot stress this enough.

Apparently we aren't clear yet - keeping my fingers crossed for a Packtite!
-
55
Already have a packtite, but need a steam cleaner, climb ups, and passive monitors. Thank you for offering this contest. -
56
Just "diagnosed" today. Found this great website during the beginning of the paranoia and hype. Packtite sure would be nice!
-
57!
What a fun idea! So glad I found this site. C'mon lucky 57!
-
How's that for market growth...#57 above is now 1-1/2 times the number of entrants, 38, who signed on for the last previous drawing a couple of weeks ago.
-
People just like KillerQueen more than me. I knew it all along, but this contest proves it. I'm still waiting for David Cain to offer a free pair of leather pants as next week's contest.
-
This contest is running three days longer than the last (nearly 1.5 times the length of the first). We get more traffic on weekdays, and the three extra days this time are all weekdays. This contest should therefore have 1.5 times more responses than the last.
-
Thanks for trying to soften the blow nobugs, but I can see the writing on the wall. KQ's got a cooler name, and is working on a sponsorship deal with a major cookie manufacturer. ;).

Thanks for trying to soften the blow nobugs, but I can see the writing on the wall. KQ's got a cooler name, and is working on a sponsorship deal with a major cookie manufacturer. ;).David, my dear, did you happen to notice how many people want to use their possible winnings in this contest to purchase one of your newfangled heaty-uppy thingamajiggies?
Just saying, there's room on the cool kids bus for you and KillerQueen, and many more besides.
-
LOL. Bumping it up again, keep entering people a winner is hours away!
-
58
(Come on 58, I could really use this!)
-
59 Thanks!
-
Closed to new entries. Stay tuned for the winner...
-
Drum roll please
-
...Nobugs is rolling the [random.org] drum...get it?...drum roll, rolling the drum?
...then [electronically] reaching in without looking and picking one of the 59 little [cyber] plastic numbered [digital] bb's in there
-
It actually takes a bit of time because I have to be in front of the computer to get the screen grab. Bear with me, I know the suspense is awful!
-
The winner (as you can see from this screen grab) is...
#42.
Congratulations, flatline!
Please refer to the directions in the first post above. I will be sending you an email in the next few minutes to the email associated with your account. You have 48 hours to respond by email to my email, following the directions in it. If you don't, someone else will be drawn as a winner.
I will update the thread once flatline and I have exchanged emails.
