CDC3000 question for professionals
(4 posts)-
So, I feel like I did when, at the beginning of my experience with bed bugs, when I asked my PCO if my shoes could harbor bed bugs... He said, "Oh no. They would have no reason to be in your shoes." But... based on my experience with that, I have the urge to ask about this!! I think a few of you may have seen the CDC3000 already. (I have not.) Any chance for unwanted hitch-hikers in the hardware? Presumably it will be used in places thought to have BBs, and then taken to other places for the same reason. What's the construction like? What do you think the chances are of moving BBs from one place to another by using the equipment in multiple locations? Please... put my mind at ease!

Hello,
The design of the CDC 3000 monitor or Night Watch for that matter does not allow it to be 100% bed bug proof if it is used to go from one home to another. This is because bed bugs can climb on the exterior surfaces.
However, it can be heat treated or sprayed with contact killer (i.e. SteriFab) to render it bed bug free.
I know that our CDC 3000 units will all be heat treated in between jobs as I feel it is the only 100% method of killing all stages on all surfaces.

I have only tried the CDC 3000 monitor. In fact, there are many professionals that I know that are testing out this monitor. The Night Watch monitor I have not tested nor do I know anyone that has.
This does not mean that the Night Watch is in some way inferior, just that I cannot comment on it ability to do what the manufacturers claim.
