So there was a flurry of posts about these monitors right after they finally got distributed, but I haven't seen anything recently. Any opinions about how effective they are?

    Thanks!

Did the Nightwatch ever get released? It seems like it was an endless cycle of them saying next month, next month, next month...I was not aware it was released yet.

As far as the CDC 3000, it is a really cool device, but since I was 99.99% sure I did not have bed bugs, and I live in a single, detached home and have used it numerous timmes and not caught a bed bug, I can only assume it is working correctly and I simply don't have bed bugs (which is what I'm hoping for).

It makes me feel better to run it once a month in the different rooms....

Still, if there was a bed bug detection dog in my area I would not have bought it, I would have used the dog. Since their was no dog, I bought this so I could at least give myself some sort of peace. Hopefully others who are using theirs in infested areas can comment.

Bitten 123, thanks for your response !

You may well be right... the Nightwatch might not have been made available to the public, but for some reason, I thought a few folks had gotten their hands on units to test them... I could be totally mistaken on that point.

Any others feel that the CDC 3000 is worth the cost?

I'll weigh in on this one since I have the CDC3000 though, because of the nature of the device and bedbug infestations in general, am still unsure of its effectiveness. I've run the unit several times in multiple locations where I suspect I may have bedbugs (home/ofc/car) but have not as yet captured a bug. Is this good news or bad news? Is the monitor working or not working? All I know is I still find new bites.

So, it's possible I haven't found proper placement location yet, of I've found it but they weren't feeding that day/night, or the device isn't providing a powerful enough attractant and the creatures are sitting it out knowing I'll be back eventually with the real deal. Or my infestation is incredibly light, wherever it is, OR these bites are now from something else or even old bites reappearing (yeah, right). As with all things bedbug-related it seems like uncertainty is the only certainty!

I guess I could contact my old PCO and see if he wants to deploy the thing in a location with a known infestation and see what happens. That would eliminate (or confirm) some of these doubts.

any update on this? I too wonder if these really work. It's a lot of money, so would want to make sure they work before buying.
