I am dying. I had a couple of other boxes on top of this box, but look what I found. Please identify. Also, is that a beetle sitting to the right of the penny? omg, omg, I'm dying. I am so distraught now. I am hoping that it's book lice moltings because there were quite a few book lice on the tape of the other boxes.

    Thank you again.

If you look hard and long enough you will find all kinds of things even in an Manhattan apartment. Staying on focus, nothing appears to be bed bug related, and hopefully the real experts in that regard will soon chime in and agree. As to what they may be -- assuming they are/were living -- again, lots of stuff co-mingling with us urban dwellers and if that upsets you I suppose you could call in an exterminator and do a general broad spectrum treatment. Or, just stop looking so hard Bottom line, doesn't appear to be bed bug related and everything else really is nothing to be distraught about.

Of course I hope you're right Richard. This just looked like dust and I was shocked when I took a picture and zoomed in to view it on my laptop. Seeing it on flickr didn't look like much, but after downloading it.. well, gulp. They look to me to be castings. of what insect, I am just praying it's not you know what.

I was just starting to accept that I don't have bbs and then I saw this. However, it was only on this one box which was in between other boxes so that's strange. Unless, it was on top at one point and my husband shifted the boxes around. I am happy to report that after moving all the boxes all I found on the floor were a few carpet beetle larvae. Hopefully, these castings are not bb related. But what are all those black dots around them? I'm starting to die again.

    EffeCi,
Thanks once against for your expertise. Do the skins belong to booklice/booklouse?
