    I bought a candy thermometer to check whether my laundry was getting as hot as I thought in the dryer. At under $10 for something I may actually use in the kitchen, it's a bargain. I took it to the dryer, wrapped it in the hot clothes, and got a reading of 120. Much better than running the dryer an extra half hour to make sure.

    Way to go, Super. Remember that every last part of your suspect item needs to get to temp (ie look out for thick, fluffy or layered areas).
