Can I salvage the Sterilite totes ?

   It is almost for certain now that I will be giving my notice here at my apartment very soon.
   (Waiting for a check I am expecting to come so I have the funds to move and pay what they want to get out of the lease.) Then it will just be a matter of 30 days and finding a place.

   I have 3 nice storage totes with wheels that I have gotten from Family Dollar Store. What I have done is put the laundry in a black garbage bag with a zip tie, then into a Hefty Large zip bag, then the tote. The totes are to keep kitty from chewing the plastic bags and keep the bags off the floor.

   I would like to salvage these totes if at all possible in my upcoming move.

   Does anyone have any suggestions on if I can sterilize them (and what to use to do so) just prior to going to my new place?
   Or is it to risky and I should toss them and get new ones? I will still be following the laundry protocol for a good 60-90 days post move (just to be sure) and these come in so handy!
