This isn't about the kind you spray, but the kind you drink.

In my experience, 91% alcohol will kill the BBs on contact but WILL NOT prevent them from bitting.

I have a friend that is an alcoholic and he get's bitten but does not react to the bites.

As for rubbing alcohol I use 91% type and it will kill on contact but does not keep them from biting and once the alcohol has dried it is useless.

I keep some next to my bed and spray the sheets with it every night and since I no longer can sleep through the night when I wake up I feel the bed for possible bugs and spray again. Also sleep with light on now.

The headline was a teaser. If you read the article linked above, you'll see that alcohol had some interesting effects but did not "prevent" bites.
