Bugzip effectiveness?
(3 posts)-
Hi,
3rd post today, long story short i found a few bug bites about 6 weeks ago and having had BB before (in a different appt, 2ish years ago) i have been living out of garbage bags since then. Recently i purchased some of the Bugzip encasements to avoid buying more garbage bags, and to have them as a permanent preventative measure for future infestations.
I am curious on how effective they are suppose to be though... if i'm not mistaken aren't BB able to crawl/hide in zippers? I don't want to be pessimistic.... so is it possible these zippers are too small for BB?
Thoughts? maybe its just a good idea to wash it out every month or so with alcohol?

AFAIK, bug zip bags are a nice way to wrap your roll on and also not meant for long term use. Wonder what it offers over the big zip lock bags. I travel everywhere with those and keep my clothes and luggage in them whenever I stay in places other than my home.

Entomologist Sean Rollo of thebedbugresource.com did a review of the BugZip. He posted some brief comments here and more extensive ones at his website.
My sense is it can be a useful tool -- especially for travel.
It will not be 100% protection (but Ziplocs can also go wrong, stop zipping, come open, etc.)
