Hi. Our hotel room (unbeknowst to us) was infested with beg bugs. I had bites (assumed they were no see ums or mosquitos, but later found out were bed bug bites). My suitcase was always closed - his was never closed. He now has them at home. I have not seen them in my home yet. Can I have lucked out, or do I have them too? I have not seen any signs (spotting, fecal specs, casings). I have not been bit, nor anyone else in my home.

Hey Kathi, if you react to the bites, yes, you can assume that no new bites means no bedbugs. Just make sure you deal with the suitcase and clothes in any case. In this weather, if you continue to have no new bites for 3 weeks, you probably didn't bring in any eggs either. I hope your friend gets treatment right away. Good luck.

EDIT: spotting, fecal signs, casings... those usually become visible later, and almost never like they appear in internet photographs (in great abundance) but when people don't react to the bites, they would be the first signs.
