Bug shells of some sort...identification anyone??
(7 posts)-
While preparing for an exterminator to come to my place, I found these casings, would anyone be able to identify if these are bed bug casings? They don't really to me based on photos, but they are incredibly tiny.

Since they're hairy they look like carpet beetles to me, but that doesn't mean you don't have bed bugs, too. Lots of places have carpet beetles.

Hi - It looks a little like one of the pictures from "Photos of stuff I've found in my room".
"Molted skin? (It seems too big to me...): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/sara9802/IMG_0707.jpg"
Maybe send them a message and see if they found out what it was? It was a post from hopeful2.

Hi,
I am almost certain that they are Carpet Beetles. They are a pest thought to be harmless and non biting but it would appear that they can induce a "bite like" response believed to be connected with the micro fine hairs on the shed larval casings.
They can sometimes be confused with bed bugs but the treatment strategy is completely different, more elbow grease and less chemical control.
I host a significant ammount of information about them at the following site:
www.bed-bugs.co.uk/carpetbeetles
They are both highly variable in colour and size, in the past I would say I have seen reactions equally from small and large samples.
