I have an extreme anxiety problem surrounding bedbugs. I have never had them but from seeing all the stuff in the news and knowing people who have them, I am very anxious and scarred of them. I was giving my dog a bath tonight and saw a blackish/brownish bug on her. It was crawling but when I tried to pull it off with my hand I wasnt able to grab it. When I used a tweezer it came off easily. The bug is very tiny, skinny and oval shaped. Could this be a bedbug? Do they stick on your skin like a tick? I have no other sign of bedbugs so I am not sure if I am just over-reacting. Also, this was around 10 pm, all my lights are on so it wasnt dark at the time. I have the bug in a tupperware container. Since it is is so tiny, I don't think taking a picture would work. Can someone please let me know what you think?

I'm thinking it could be a dog or deer tick. They kinda look like bed bugs. Bed bugs are easy to remove from skin. Ticks latch on, whereas bed bugs do not and they don't require tweezers to remove.

Here's a link with a picture of the ticks: http://health.allrefer.com/health/ticks-deer-and-dog-tick.html

Since you have the bug in a container, can you post a picture of it so we can help identify it for you?

Was it crawling very fast? Fleas crawl very fast and might look oval shaped if you did not look at a stationary one up close. They are hard to catch as opposed to being hard to detach like a tick, but I mention it because I am not clear on what you meant.

Get a pic, get an answer.

Does it have fairly easy to spot eyes?
    Smooth abdomen or ridged?

Probably a tick from the circumstances.
