Bug Id Please. Is this a beetle?

    okay..i'm gonna take a stab and say:

    variegated carpet beetle...if so..the beetle won't bother you but the carpet beetle larvae probably will. It's got little hairs sticking out all over it...it's very small and dark colored. You may find some if you look carefully. If you react to the cb larvae hairs as i do, you'll have a skin reaction just like bbs give!

    Vacuum like the dickins!

    way better to have these than bbs, in my opinion.

    Its think its either a biscuit beetle or confused flour beetle.

    David, KQ, and Deeds,

    Thanks guys. i found it sitting on one of our cabinets next to my husband's umbrella. but it was dead (i think).

    I do read about how their larvae hairs irritate and look like bb bites, but how do they get close to your body to do that?
