Bringing home my cat and what NOt to do after treatment(3 posts)
I am picking up my cat after 24 hours of PCO. i wash her before and after i took her to a friends, but they are leaving town...
It was my 4th time pco and i had no bite for like 17 days.
I found one in the livingroom in a trap 14 days ago. So they pco and then again 7 days later for eggs.
Any how, I am confining my self and cat to one room.
I need to wash the floors to my cat doesn't get ill.
Again the pco gave me no directions, of ANY thing at all. BEfore of after..
I read here not to wash the floors to let sit for like 9 days.
Day 60 of bb war and I am so tired of confused of all this.
I really feel we have eliminated but you can't be for sure.
I have to get my cat and all these chemicals are hard on us both.
I would not wash floors, unless told to do so.Wait at least 2 weeks before washing the floors, except for spot cleaning just in case. The chemicals they use here in US are safe even for cats after they are dry.Try not to focus on the chemicals, without them you will have to live with bb's,so...Most of the treatment is crack and crevice anyway which it would be hard to come into contact with.Focus on a vision of bb free living and good luck.
I would ask the PCO how long to wait before washing floors, vacuuming, etc. They are the BEST source of information since they know what they used. If they do not have an opinion, then get a list of what they used and where, and perhaps a PCO here could comment. But don't take just anyone's word on this.
You should not need to wash the floors for your cat's safety. The PCO should be licensed and should be advising you on how to keep yourself and your pet safe after treatment.
Remember that you must get treatment again in approx 2 weeks if there are ANY bites, or sightings of bed bugs, cast skins, or eggs.
