A week ago, I had a friend stay at my apartment and she woke up with 5 bites in a V pattern. The "breakfast, lunch, dinner" line was running through my head and I immediately freaked out and assumed I had bugs. My super called an exterminator who, of course, found nothing. I washed all sheets, towels, pillows, duvet, etc. in hot water and dried for 2 hours. The Protect-a-Bed casing is also officially on. Then, this morning, I woke up with a bright red blood stain, about 1/4 in. in diameter, on my pillow. There is no big bite on my face and there was no squished bug surrounding the area (i.e. to indicate I'd rolled over and killed the sucker).

Is it possible for them to leak blood while they bite you, or to squish one without finding a squished bug in the process? My mom said it's probably just a nose bleed or something, but I've never had one and certainly not in the middle of the night.

Thanks for any support you can provide!
