I Moved like a 20n days ago from a bedbug inftested studentapartment. Already told my story here, but to keep it short, I never had any real problem I could notice in my room , but the other two had. Thing is we still found a few in a walk in-wardrobe/storageroom we had in the apartment where I had lots of stuff. I did throw away a lot of stuff before moving, and left my bed there etc, but still I had to take some stuff like laptop and some other stuff. Clothes of course...yep, u get the picture I guess

But the problem is, I am worried I´m one of those not reacting to the bites, and then smears and fecals is all I can look for to try knowing if there might be any bedbugs around in my new apartment.
Now after moving I´ve checked the white sheets every mornin for blood ot fecals, and hasn´t found anything alarming.
But last 3 days I´ve found a few bloodstains and it worries me even more since I´m not sure if i´m reacting. I know a few of them is my blood, and I have a scratch/cut on my back from a kids nail that could bleed. Also , as a man , u can always have small wounds from shaving...but still havent found much stains before...so, yeah , u see my point.

Now thing is , 4-5 of the dots I´ve found is a litte darker brown/beige colour...and I guess it could be dried blood I just haven´t noticed before, as I have a little of a pattern on my pillow. Actually comparing to some of the 2-3 days old spots, it don´t differ that much, but still a little browner and darker.

Still if someone could check the pics.
I am a little worried it may be fecals and then, if so, I wanna call the PCO asap !!!
I´m not great at judging fecals since we saw almost none on sheets in the other apartment.

Also, those 4-5 is cloe to a blue circle (it is around 1cm big) to help see size, and on some pics I folded the fabric, to show some other stains that is from a shavingwound I reopened, scratched, on purpose to get something to compare with.

Should also say the stains u see a few , 10-20 cm from the 4-5 I took photos of is definitely my blood, my little "test-dots"

Actually when checking out and comparing to some of my test-dots some of those now starting to get a similar color, so I guess mmaybe it was just some old dot´s I hade not thought of before. I guess I´m not really used to comparing blood-spots on sheets or pillow.
Wasn´t sort of my normal behvaviour before i knew bedbugs

Same with thinking it was strange seeing blodspots on my pillow a few times in a few days. I guess friends not having bedbugs would say, "is´t that more logical if u have on or two wounds that it can break open easy the first few days and leave spots" .

I also realized with my testdots that it takes a very small wound to make these kind of spots...

Still , hard not to worry a little with these bugs

    Hi,

Yes its likely to be blood but based on the colour and numbers its unlikely to be bedbug related.

    Ok, thanx !

When u say many, I hope you realized It is only the 4-5 dots toghether that appears in all pictures that I was unsure of.
The others are only my little testdots, that appears a few , 10-20 centimeters away. But still I guess that´s already said in first post

Thanx anyhow for your quick reply ! Really , I´ve always been appreciating your quick and helpful replies David ! =D

You help a lot of people here easing there worries and giving some perspective on things, helping us to be reasonable but carefull

    Hi,

Yes I did realise its the same cluster taken in different shots.

I still stick with my initial assessment. I would be looking for a cut or scratch or spot in the corresponding part of the body before I went looking for bedbugs on this one.

Thanks for the kind words, I help where I can and images always make it so much easier to help you as well so pat on the back for taking clear ones.

On the subject of calming people down I have a great story to share. This last week we have been busy working on a 21 story building. A day before we got involved a pest controller on behalf of a major company walked off the job declaring it out of control. By taking a calm and methodical approach we quickly established that only 5 rooms have current infestations, 2 previously undetected and 3 as a result of previous treatment failures. So they go from being told they are out of control to in control of the facts in 3 working days. At the same time all occupants of the building were educated with tri-folds as they were screened and the posters and passives go in next week. Lat year cost them £25,000 to react to bedbugs. This year will cost them less than £8,000 to be clear and go proactive using the occupants as front line screeners for the ultimate in early detection.

    David

Its not rocket science its bedbug control and Houston WE have a problem

Your welcome ! I think anyone who takes his time being kind and helpful always deserves appreciation ! It´s not a given thing always...
But then again I´m from Sweden ....Not that we are rude people, but we ain´t exactly known for running around hugging each other and giving each other compliments

And yeah, as I said I have one big scratch/cut on my back ( from some kid climbing on me at school I think) and usually I always have some small cut from shaving, and/or some from some zit or pimple so it´s certainly possible

I like the story, but it´s also ( a little sadly) a story of the fact that u need to be lucky with a good PCO helping you. I can imagine the ease of anxiety coming from you giving them some hope, and actually I think getting involved as a person helps as well. Juat knowing you can do some really usefull stuff to help out during the process I guees should make most people feel less hopelses about their situation. It seems like a great solution your working with there

A quick question on fecals on like plastic floorstyles, and baseboards. Can the spots be really hard and dry, and hard to get of the surface ? And should they still "smear" if I wetten them a little like in the smeartest you showed on a PDF ? If not straight away, maybe after rubbing a few times ?

(Just to know if there is a different to dried in stuck dark/black dirtspots on the floor.)

    Thanx again
