Bizarre, folded-triangle bug parts?
(3 posts)-
I awoke from a deep sleep early this morning to feel something slightly sharp on the inside of my arm. In my sleep, I brushed it away - and felt something decently sized was on my arm. I bolted out of bed, turned on the lights, threw back the sheets - and found something I don't understand.
In my bed, there are about 10 small objects that look like bug parts. Each is a few millimeters long, starting with a thicker segment that is striped beige-and-white and then thins out to a longer beige, 'antenna-thickness' segment, and the whole thing is folded into a triangle (with the 'antenna'-looking part being longer than the other sides of the triangle). I don't have a camera that can take a photo of them. The 'antenna' part seems soft and pliable and the whole thing looks to me like it's made of chitin.
Does anyone have ANY idea what these could be?? My friends upstairs had a treatment for bedbugs a few months ago (I never had any sign of them down in the basement where I live, and have had no sign since) but this appears unrelated to me. Still, I felt something on my arm, and these things in my bed certainly came from SOMETHING.
I'd appreciate any input you have!

maybe a house centipede? you can google the pictures, but they have many antenna-like legs which are bent.

strat man, that was assuredly a house centipede. you poor bugger. they are nightmarish creatures.
we have a real problem with them in our apt and i have seen legs of that exact description in my bed, or after my cat has had a good hunt in the night.
they apparently eat BBs but that will never endear them to me. sticky "tent" style traps (victor brand) placed along floorboards and in dark/damp places are good for catching these guys. they prefer to scuttle along dark or concealed "highways".
ugh.
