Beware of window fans, if you used DE.(1 post)
A while ago, I did a little crack & crevice treatment with DE. Since it's getting hot, I pulled my window fan out of storage. I usually set it up to blow outward, since that does a better job of cooling off multiple rooms.
Well, you can probably guess where this is going. Even though I don't have piles of DE and it's a bit dust-covered, anyhow, and it's not exactly like it was being directly disturbed, it would seem that enough got picked up into the air that I developed a bit of a cough and that sort of dry, tingly feeling at the back of my mouth that I remember from when I first applied it.
Once I made the connection, I switched to blowing the air inward, which helped. Since I was worried about that causing more direct disturbance to the DE, I switched to central AC. Much better, but I was still a bit worried. Then, I went and bought the highest grade furnace filter available. Now, not a hint of any symptoms.
