My family is traveling soon ( I am not going) and I want to know what is the best protocol to follow to prevent any bugs from coming home.

I have checked the bedbug registry and travel sites for bed bug reports... None for the hotel they will be staying at. They will be staying with other family most of the 4 day trip but will spend one night in a hotel.

They are not bringing luggage... I am packing their things in ziplocks. It will be separated into bags to use at Grandmas and another bag to use at hotel.

Husband promises to inspect hotel room at check in, but since I am not there, cannot guarrentee how thorough he will be. Phones and electronics will be kept in ziplocks in room.

Items will be laundered prior to coming home. Anything that cannot be will be placed in the dryer on a rack ( ie shoes) or tossed once back home.

I am concerned about them going from the hotel room and then spending all day in the car..... If my husband does not follow the guidelines I have suggested. Because all my precautions will be for nothing if the car becomes infested and he is in and out of it everyday ( he may be willing to follow precautions for travel but beyond that he considers paranoia ).

Is there anything else I should be doing ? Or changing?
