Being bit by something
(3 posts)-
BB Dog in to inspect apartment today. The PCO stated that no signs of BB's were found. Good news, I suppose, not sure if I believe it but nothing else I can do right now.
I am still being bit. Just a bite or two here and there. Usually on my arms. Nothing like my first group of bites which were many (maybe 25-30 in number), almost a month ago that were primarily under my breast, with a few bites around my wait and inner thighs. Incidentally, I had just bought a new bra.
Nothing in climb-ups.
Dr. was unsure of what the bites were. No help there.
Hubs and I took apart bed the other day. Found 2 separate eggs (not in clusters or groups) a few inches apart under the mattress tag. Also found a very small translucent-ish bug crawling on bed frame, maybe a mm in length. This was unfortunately destroyed by my darling hubs. Described this to PCO, seemed unconcerned.
PCO was concerned about my place of work, a nursing home, said to be very careful/alert at work. To my knowledge, we have not had these at my work to date.
Bites do *seem* to be happening at home. I know you may not always know (delayed reaction, etc.) Just awoke from a nap (making up for the sleepless nights) with a big bite on my arm.
Looking for signs of BB's. We have had them in the past (at old apt which we left 15 months ago). We never had any problem figuring out what was biting me. We saw those strange bugs before I was being bit and then made the connection.
We have company coming in a month. PCO said we were fine but to have guests take the same precautions they would (or should, rather) staying in a hotel or otherwise traveling.
I really have tried to make this rant short -just the facts ma'am
I also want to say that I am thankful that my current apartment managers seem to be handling this with a great more deal of professionalism than my previous one did (you know, spraying themselves, not hiring professionals, denying problems in other apts). Actually told us "You are not alone." And the PCO said he would come back out if we found evidence.
Any thoughts/ideas/comments are greatly appreciated.
I am nervous about our company that is coming to visit. We will be completely upfront with them with everything that has been going on.
Few Questions:
1.Are eggs of BB's found singularly or often in clusters? We showed the eggs (2 of them) to PCO. Said they weren't BB's.
2. Can anyone recommend a good sanitarium? I kid, I kid.
3. I will try to be as careful as I can coming home from work. I can't undress until I am in my apartment (or I might find myself in said sanitarium/jail). I can see the news headlines now... Tips? Should I just keep my shoes tied up in a bag the second I come in?
4. Any tips on finding out what is biting me? I have been emptying the vacuum bag into a white plastic bin for inspection. We have climb-ups and tape around the legs of the bed. -
Update:
Just noticed a bunch of bumps/bites (20 or so each leg) on the area where my inner thighs touch near my knees, on both legs.
Is this normal for bb's? Large areas/clusters of many small bites? These were not here earlier. I am going crazy. I didn't have groups of small cluster bites when we had BB's before. It was an occasional bite (very itchy) here and there but did seem to differ some. I assume BB nymph bites and adult bites are different. -
Sorry to harass you guys but I don't know what else to do. If have have say 50 small bites on my legs that seemed to have happened while I was napping, wouldn't I see fecal stains? Unless maybe bb nymphs don't leave any or as much fecal stains?
I know I am not alone but this really sucks.
