Found this crawling on my desk in my office, at 8am. Killed it, looks pretty close to a bed bug, not 100% sure. Link below.

    Hi,

This is exactly why its best to capture not crush.

This sample is too destroyed for a positive id but I would put it as 90% unlikley to be a bedbug.

Please use tape or glass to immobilise, the nano second of joy you get in killing things is not worth the hours of on going stress because we cant identify it correctly other than its a smooched insect of some type.

Bedbugs will not be able to climb out of a glass or off sticky tape. Please preserve samples if you want them identified.

David - thanks for the heads up, sorry, I was frantic to catch it - it was moving too fast for me to tape it, though I tried, knocking my coffee over in the process. It didn't "squirt" as bb's I've killed in the past have, and it looked a bit oddly shaped, with longish tentacles coming off the front of it....thanks though.

    Hi,

I think it may have been a firebrat - larger version of a silverfish, have a google and compare.

It's close, but the head looks wider and rounder, more like a bb head.
