Bedbug article on AOL(3 posts)
Just saw this article on Daily Finance. I thought it was fairly comprehensive and gave some accurate information.
Be warned, it's an AOL site, so the comments are pretty frustrating. Most of the posts are the usual combination of ignorance and political nonsense, etc., such as it's all the fault of Obama/immigrants/democrats in general. I read through all 93 comments so you wouldn't have to.
Good article, I especially enjoyed this:
As for alcohol-based sprays -- another common solution -- she notes that "they will kill bedbugs if they contact them. For that matter, so will a flyswatter or a rolled-up newspaper. The big problem isn't the bugs you can spray or swat; it's the ones in tiny cracks and crevices, the ones you cannot find."
I keep thinking this every time people talk about spraying them with 91% alcohol - squishing them does the trick just as well, and more satisfying to me.
I had a chuckle over the comments. One person blames fat people for wanting air conditioning in public places, which puts moisture into the air, and apparently bed bugs thrive on moisture. I feel myself getting smarter already.
I just read the article about 45 minutes ago. The following is a brief summary of events 5 minutes prior and 45 minutes after reading:
8:40 pm - Sitting contently with my boyfriend
8:41 pm - Boyfriend pulls up article
8:42 pm - I begin searching my lap top for same article
8:43 pm to present - PARANOIA!!!!
I immediately logged on to this site to see if the article had been posted, it is.
Not quite sure what this will do for my retail therapy sessions, but I will remain vigilant!
