Currently I am staying at my boyfriends apartment. been here for a few months, dealing with a bed bug problem (nothing too out of control, but still very irritating). I am moving into my own place soon. We have been sleeping on my bed for the past month, I have both the box spring and top part either in plastic taped up or in a fabric mattress protector. Last I knew the mattresses were clean.
Do you think I will be able to take my mattress with me to my new place wrapped up and never unwrap it, or is it too risky and should I just buy a new mattress?
I havn't located where the nest is, dont know if they have gotten into the mattress or what. we have gotten one treatment in the apartment so far, doing another next week (after i have moved unfortunatly).was fine for a few weeks, but back to getting more bites, which makes me nervous.

also any tips on moving I would appreciate it. (obviously I will be cleaning everything before I move my stuff)

    thanks

From what you describe, I would be wary about moving. At the very least, get a new mattress. (I'm not sure what you mean about a "fabric mattress protector." Does the manufacturer specifically claim it will seal BBs in?) In any case, I wouldn't take the risk, though even if you don't take your bed, you may still take a bug or two or... in something else.

I've said inaccurate things before, though my personal experience made me totally spooked about moving. Let's see who else chimes in here. Probably they will tell you to read all the FAQs about the best ways to deal with your stuff (again, not sure what you mean by "cleaning" it). Your boyfriend's infestation may be mild. Nonetheless, I learned the following two lessons the hardest way: 1) Do not underreact. 2) Do not underestimate the bug.
