Bed Bugs vs Mosquitoes
(4 posts)-
From many of the posts, it seems that one of the most upsetting things about bed bugs is the thought of them sucking your blood. Some forum users have described anxiety over possibly being bitten while staying in a hotel.
But why is being bitten by a bed bug in a hotel bed any worse than being bitten by a mosquito, assuming, of course, that you don't have the misfortune of bringing bed bugs home with you?
Mosquito bites, after all, are known to transmit various diseases, some of which may be fatal.

It's much easier to escape mosquitoes than bed bugs.

Usually you are attacked by more than one bb while you are sleeping in what is sacred space, your bed. Bb bites last longer, and are much more painful, itchier, and uglier than mosquito bites. Also mosquitos can be kept at bay with screens, repellants etc.

As noted above, you more easily evade skeeters.
With BBs, they get in your stuff and multiply "exponentially". Plus, you risk being stigmatized and ostracized. (Your workplace might not want you there if they know that you're bringing BBs with your bags and stuff).
Plus, treatment is expensive, tedious and not universally successful.
With skeeters, you leave the area or wait for end of summer and they're gone.
