Bed Bugs shut down coach swap in Fort Collins
(10 posts)-
I hope you guys don't mind if I toot my own horn here, but I had my hand in getting the couch swap stopped. They called and asked for advice concerning this and my response was even if 100 people get a free, bed bug free couch, it isn't worth it if 1 gets a couch that is infested. Packtite is based in Fort Collins, so I couldn't let that go on in my backyard.

Good for you, David!

It would be great if someone could produce sofa/bed size "pack-tites" that could effectively decon furniture and end this awful waste, kind of like RainCity's hot room.

Cilecto,
good idea!

cilecto - i agree, fabulous idea!!!!!!!!
couldn't it just be made out of the same material as a packtite? you could lift furniture onto a small stand, and then raise up around it the material that is the outer casing of the *giant* packtite.
that would be fabulous. especially for people who are moving and want to take furniture with them.

David,
Have you ever considered selling or leasing Packtites to commercial laundromats? I've been seeing a lot of abandoned suitcases lately--some of them, nearly brand-new looking--which makes me wonder if travelers are abandoning their luggage either mid-trip or as soon as they get home. If they could go to a commercial laundromat and zap the thing, that might save them from having to toss perfectly new luggage. If people did that before they went home, it t would also reduce the chances of picking something up on an airplane. And reduce the number of infested things sitting on sidewalks. Anyway, just a thought. Seems like people would pay to be able to dry their non-clothing items as well as their clothes.
