Bed bugs or lice?

I have all of the symptoms of bedbugs...My first 'episode' was almost a year ago. At first I thought they were lice, then was able to catch 2 in their adult cycle. (Looked like bed bug) I am a flight attendant and and their have been a few others that have had 'episodes'. We did everything recommended to us and 2 months ago I woke up in the middle if the night -3 or 4 AM- Itching/burning sensation and miserable. I sat up in a chair for the rest of the night because I refused to get back in the bed...My question is, while they bite/sting my body they really seem to prefer my head. I have bumps/bites in my scalp and the eggs do stick to my hair. Now I am wondering of they ARE lice and not bed bugs. How can I tell the difference? Do bed bugs have similar characteristics? I am so fed up! I am so tired but can't sleep-every little itch puts me into panic mode...Please help

A doctor will be able to tell the difference. Also, you can take the eggs and any bugs somewhere for ID--not sure how it's done in the UK but university extension programs, entomologists at museums, PCOs, etc. Perhaps the local council can direct you.

BED BUGS DO NOT LAY EGGS ON PEOPLE AS A RULE ... HAD IT HAPPEN TO ME ONCE ... IN MY ARM PIT.
sounds more like lice but you might have both ...
that would be so unfortunate and I hope it's just nerves and dandruff--but please see a doc and keep us posted
