Three weeks with no clear signs of bites, but red, bumpy areas on my skin that itch slightly. I was wondering if they were bites. Now, I know they were not, because I found a real, no doubt possible, bite yesterday night after seeing a play at the theatre and, after, sitting on a couch that was in hall. As I mentioned on earlier posts, the PCO did a complete inspection after 3 treatments and found nothing. My bed is still isolated. Most of time, I am waking up with bites, so it is weird that it appeared during the night(around 12 pm). So, I was wondering if I could have been bitten during the play, as I know that they sometimes infest theatres. I really do not know what to think, these bugs have been bringing insolvable mysteries! And, if the bite was in fact from my house, which, I guess, is more likely than from somewhere else, when should I expect to be bitten again? I read very diverse information about how often bed bugs are feeding. Anybody has a definitive answer? Looking at the bright side of the situation, one bite in 3 weeks is a clear improvement!
    Thanks!

well when this happens to me, as it does, I always think...it can take up to 9 days for your bite to appear so how do you know where it really came from?

Yes, you are right. This is exactly the problem, not knowing how long it takes you to react is definitely making it harder to identify where the bugs are from. It is a very inexact science! I am planning going away for a few day, I guess it might help identify if I have a delayed reaction. Also, I read somewhere that if you are exposed to bites for a long time, you tend to react to bites faster. But I guess everybody is different and there is no way of knowing...

For what it's worth, after the thermal treatment in June (remember, thermal is one of the "takes care of them in one go much of the time" treatment methods), I had a bed bug scare in August.

I had three huge super itchy bites that looked and acted like nothing but bed bugs.

I had the PCO come out and inspect since my apartment was still under warranty, and he found nothing.

The *only* place/thing I'd done differently was go to a movie theater that I don't normally go to. (It was an art house cinema that had more screens than my local art house cinema, so I went to see a movie playing in super limited release.)

The PCO and I concluded that I was probably bitten there.

Since then, still no signs at home.

So, if you're asking whether it's possible to be bitten at a theater? I'd have to say yes.

Well, thanks for your answer Buggy! But it might have lost its relevance in my case... I decided to do a complete inspection of my room (again!) just to make me feel better. And I found a tiny speck that looks like a dropping on my encasement, a cast skin close to the baseboard and a speck on the wall that also looks like a new dropping HHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!! Seems like they are back! I still do not understand how they could get in my bed as the legs are full of vaseline and that I inspected and sprayed my metal frame with pyrethroids. They do not have wings, right ;) ? They might have just fallen on my bed from the ceiling after all. So, I will call my PCO, again, and he will have to come for the 5th time if I can convince him that bedbugs do have skins! I guess I will have to pay a visit to the entomologist just to make sure. And I also guess i can say goodbye to my travelling plans during springbreak as I do not want the bugs to migrate to my roommate's room when I am away. What are the chances it will happen? I really looked forward to these holidays but well, there are other priorities right now...
