Bed bugs in the dryer go round & round
(5 posts)-
When you have bed bugs heat is your ally. And one of the easiest access weapons of BB mass destruction is the dryer. Two months ago I told a young lady who was being plagued by bed bugs along with her daughter to among other things put the clothes through the dryer before bagging or at least before re use. They have been BB free for close to two months now. But suddenly they are back, and her daughter had a few bites, after ruling out other causes I asked.
Q: Did you take any things out of the bags recently?
A: Yes I took out some clothes for my daughter.
Q: Did you run things through the dryer before bagging or at least before unpacking as discussed?
A: No
Q: Why
A: I don't know it seemed that bagging would just be enough.Ladies and gentleman, ghouls and goblins and vampyres of all ages the folks who spend their time playing with bugs are not making this stuff up. This is a re occurrence that should not have happened if only directions were followed. Please if we are going to arrest the spread of bed bugs we must work at it AGAIN we're not just making this stuff up!

Your headline made me laugh and then I read it again and laughed again. It really hit the spot tonight! I'm still smiling.

Winston. There are, unfortunately, a lot of people like this. Unless treatment protocols become accessible and idiot-proof, we're in for a loooong night.

I hereby nominated Winston as the RTFM guru.
I often use a lovely phrase in similar situations which goes "OK so you decided not to follow the sage words of wisdom in the 58 page manual we left you, could you please explain why you felt that your case of bed bugs was any different to the other 13,000 we have dealt with in developing the resource that you so blatantly ignored".
I am thinking of putting a cover page to the instruction that simple says Step 1 RTFM, step 2 read it again in case you missed something the first time.
