Bed Bug ID Please
(6 posts)-
I have a bit of a crazy story. It has been 4 months since I have had a bite and since I installed a passive detector. Not even sure I had bed bugs in the first place but my landlord did send pest control for 3 weeks of treatments (1 treatment per week).
In any case I'm looking in my trash in the bathroom, which is as far from my bed as you can get in my aparment (a good 30+ feet away) and I see a bed bug crawling in the trash! I caught it and here are pix for an ID please:

I apologize for the blurriness but I'm pretty sure they are bed bugs.
Is it possible I brought a rogue in from outside? There have been no signs on the passive detector.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Definitely looks like one. Possibly a straggler, or a baseboard adventurer. Better you found it than if you hadn't and left it alive.
Does your bathroom border a neighbor? Another possibility.

Can't see anything to rule it out but too blurry to confirm 100%

Well, my workplace has had a few rogues lately but 3 visits from a pest control dog turned up nothing. Could be that I brought one back from there or, shoot I ride the subway everyday...who knows? I suppose that's ultimately what's so frustrating about these suckers, huh?
Still trying to do the math on how it ended up in the trash though. That's odd.
I'm going to hope that this was a solo rider and nothing more.
Thanks for your help!

Is that a standard camera? Try macro mode.
If it's a cell phone camera, do you have a magnifying glass? -
Sorry, I already smashed it to bits. : / Will definitely be more vigilant and watching my passive monitor that's for sure.
